Nov 20, 2013 (newstodate): Future A380 delivery flights from Airbus to its main customer Emirates will transport humanitarian support to the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot, UNHRD.
This follows from a partnership announced by Airbus Corporate Foundation, Emirates Airline, and Action Against Hunger.
The first goodwill flight was performed on October 29, 2013, with an Airbus A380 for Emirates landing with 31 tonnes of humanitarian cargo to be stored in the United Nation Humanitarian Response facility in Dubai.
The program will comprise up to four delivery flights per year into Emirates' hub at Dubai.
At the Dubai Air Show this month, Emirates added orders for a further 50 Airbus A380 aircraft on top of its existing order for 90 aircraft, of which 39 have now been delivered.
