Dec 12, 2013 (newstodate): The smallest air cargo market in the Nordic region, Finland grew its IATA export cargo volumes in October 2013.
Volumes were up by 5.5 percent, y-o-y, to 3,834 tonnes, with Finnair Cargo at the top among the 10 leading carriers with 1,286 tonnes, corresponding to a market share at 33.5 percent.
Finnair's cargo volumes were, however, down by 14.2 percent, y-o-y, in October, as were also those of #2, Lufthansa Cargo that dropped 6.3 percent to 454 tonnes, and China Cargo Airlines, #10 on the list, with a drop by 31.3 percent to only 97 tonnes.
All other carriers on the Top-10 list saw their volumes up, including #3, KLM Cargo with an increase by 41.3 percent, y-o-y, to 412 tonnes, #4 Air France Cargo that was up 799 percent (!) to 294 tonnes, and #5 Cargolux that increased its volumes by 58.3 percent to 228 tonnes.
Another front-runner was #8 on the list, Turkish Airlines Cargo that grew its volumes in Finland by 258 percent to 159 tonnes.
