Dec 06, 2013 (newstodate): On behalf of the Turkmen state, Turkmenistan Airways has evaluated several options for provision of aircraft to serve the country's domestic routes.
Turkmenistan needs to develop its domestic aviation services including the construction of small airports capable of handling aircraft with 50-100 seats.
The airline has thus been assessing the capabilities of various aircraft types including the ATR 72-600, the ATR 42-600, Bombardier Dash 8, the Czech L-410, the Ukrainian An-38 and AN-140.
Following this, the ATR 42-600 and Let 410 have been selected as the aircraft best suited to the development of regional air services in Turkmenistan, and a presentation of these two aircraft types will follow.
