Feb 15, 2013 (newstodate): Croatia's Star Alliance-member carrier Croatia Airlines is fighting for survival.
Deep in the red in 2012 and 2011, the carrier is now reportedly forced to cut its aircraft fleet that consists of seven Airbus A320 Family aircraft and six Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
In the short term, the carrier is expected to hand back at least one Airbus aircraft, cut staff and down-size the route network.
Based at Zagreb Airport, Croatia Airlines was first set up in 1989 and acquired its current name in 1990
