Nor surprisingly, these expectations are roughly in line with those of IATA that sees cargo demand to grow by 2.7 percent - reversing the declining trend of the last two years - and cargo yields expected to be flat - an improvement on the 1.5 percent decline previously projected.
Slated to take delivery of the first two of a total of five new Boeing 777 freighters in the autumn, Lufthansa Cargo lifted a total of 1.7 mio tonnes of cargo and mail in 2012, down 8.5 percent, y-o-y.
