Apr 23, 2013 (newstodate): Europe's first operator of the Boeing 787, the Polish carrier LOT expects to have its Dreamliner aircraft back into service by early June.
Boeing has decided that the replacement of the defective battery systems grounding the world's fleet of aircraft since January 2013 will take place in the same order as the original deliveries, leaving LOT way down the line.
Also, the replacement work will not take place at Boeing's US plants but at designated stations around the world.
Thus LOT's two Dreamliner aircraft will fly to Addis Abeba in Ethiopia to have new systems and battery installations.
In the fleet of LOT are now two grounded Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a third delivery scheduled for H1, 2013.
