Jul 23, 2013 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo gained some fresh air in June 2012 as cargo volumes were up again, rising 5.1 percent, y-o-y, to 13,176 tonnes.
Cargo carried on passenger flights was up eight percent to 10,215,, while cargo on freighter operations dipped by 3.7 percent, to 2,961 tonnes.
The important Asian traffic increased by six percent, y-o-y, to 7,333 tonnes, and excepting cargo on leisure and domestic flights all other business segments were on the rise, with European volumes up 15.4 percent to 2,034 tonnes and N American traffic loads up 17 percent to 706 tonnes.
During H1, 2013, the company saw a decline by 7.6 percent, y-o-y, to 69,059 tonnes, with volumes on passenger flights down 2.6 percent to 54,687 tonnes and freighter volumes steeply down by 23.2 percent, y-o-y, to 14,175 tonnes.
