Aug 20, 2013 (newstodate): The Airbus A320 Family aircraft are common sights at Copenhagen Airport. But one such bird will be a novelty from the start of the coming winter schedule.
On selected flights starting from the end of October 2013, the "new" Serb carrier Air Serbia, formerly JAT, will deploy its new Airbus A319 aircraft on the route between Belgrade and Copenhagen as the Serb government has now confirmed the deposit payment for the first five A319 aircraft ordered by the former Milosovic regime in 1998 but never delivered, while the company posted the 23 mio USD down-payment for them.
The issue was for years a hot potato between the Serb state and Airbus, but the knot was axed by the take-over by 49 percent of the stake in former JAT by Etihad - and the aircraft are now slated for their first commercial flight on October 27, 2013, on the route to Moscow.
