Jan 27, 2014 (newstodate): As part of its preparations for launch of its coming Transatlantic route, Ukraine International Airlines is now seeking a cargo GSSA to provide services in the US market.
UIA has thus launched a tender among potentials cargo GSSA providers in the USA prior to the start of services between Kiev and New York JFK from April 25, 2014, offering two weekly rotations with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
Plans are next to increase to four weekly flights from May 14, 2014, to six flights from June 12, 2014, and finally to daily flights from June 23 to September 30, 2014.
Facing the autumn and winter, the carrier will then go back to five weekly rotations from October 1, 2014.
Barred from setting up flights on new routes to the USA since Ukraine's downgrading to Category II in 2005, Ukraine International Airlines is now able to build up its intercontinental and not least Transatlantic flights after the country won back its Category I status from September 2013.
