Oct 06, 2014 (newstodate): Iran is keen to develop and modernize its fleets of commercial aircraft.
The country has set a target of having a total of 550 commercial aircraft by 2025, and so far into its year starting March 21, 2014, the country has taken delivery of 24 new aircraft, including three Airbus A320 aircraft.
In the preceding year ending March 20, 2014, the country's airlines received 21 new aircraft.
On the immediate horizon this year is the delivery of a further 13 aircraft, seven of which will be ordered directly by the Iranian airlines, and another six to be ordered by the Iranian state.
At the same time, Iran has pledged itself to raise operational standards to fully meet ICAO requirements.
