Oct 14, 2014 (newstodate): As long rumored in the industry, Qatar Airways Cargo is indeed to launch freighter flights from Norway's Stavanger Airport.
The first flight will be perform on Monday, October 20, 2014, and the frequency will be one weekly call by the carrier coming in from Brussels on its return flight to Doha.
With the Monday flight, the new routing is probably driven primarily by the Stavanger region's extensive oil & gas industries rather than Norway's seafood exports that are carried by Qatar Airways Cargo's three weekly Oslo flights.
The new flight will be operated with Airbus A330-200F aircraft while Boeing 777F services may also be handled at the Stavanger Airport.
NordicGSA is Qatar Airways Cargo's cargo GSSA in Scandinavia.
