Nov 13, 2014 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's Air Astana has announced ambitions to grow its aircraft fleet further in the coming years.
The Kazakh flag carrier Air Astana is currently operating a fleet of 30 aircraft including 13 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, five Boeing 757-200, three Boeing 767-300ER, and nine Embraer 190 aircraft.
Plans are to grow the fleet to 36 aircraft by 2019, including the three Boeing 787 aircraft ordered in 2007 along with options for a further three aircraft.
The carrier expects to start taking delivery of its first Boeing 787 aircraft in 2017.
Air Astana is today the only Kazakh airline allowed to serve flight on routes into the EU as all other Kazakh carriers are still on the EU Black List.
Air Astana is a joint venture owned 51 percent by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 49 percent by BAE Systems.
