Feb 17, 2014 (newstodate): Out-sourcing has been driven to the limit by Estonian Air.
-As part of our efforts to cut costs, we have continued the drive to out-source as much of our non-core business as possible, says Jan Palmer, Estonian Air CEO.
-Our aircraft maintenance has been outsources to AME at Tallinn Airport, ground handling has been outsourced, the revenue accounting has been outsourced while the yield management has been retained in-house.
-Also we have just divested of our ownership stake in Amadeus Estonia. Basically, everything that might reasonably be out out-sourced has thus been out-sourced.
-One thing that remains with us, however, is aircraft fueling that is provided by a JV with BP. Retaining this asset grants us favorable fuel prices which is important and desirable.
-After this series of out-sourcing decision, I do not foresee more to be done in this field, says Mr Palmer.
