Mar 26, 2014 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines Cargo is to launch a new freighter route connecting Turkey, Spain and Serbia.
The routing will be Istanbul-Madrid-Belgrade-Istanbul operated with an Airbus A330-200F freighter aircraft.
The schedule calls for one weekly rotation on the route with the freighter carrying up to 70 tonnes of cargo.
The current cargo capacity at Belgrade Airport is some 700-800 tonnes per month, and this total would increase by over 1,000 tonnes with the addition of the new service.
Already serving Belgrade Airport five times weekly is the Latvian cargo airline RAF Avia between Budapest and Belgrade with a Saab 340 freighter carrying 3.7 tons and Antonov 26 with 5.5 tonnes operating for integrators TNT and DHL.
