May 27, 2014 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo is adding a fourth flight to its operations at its second European cargo hub at Brussels Zaventem Airport.
Starting from June 6, 2013, Finnair introduced its first Airbus A340-300 on morning flights between Helsinki and Brussels, and the second Airbus service will be launched on June 25, 2014, in addition to the two weekly MD-11F rotations and four daily narrow-body flights.
During the first 12 months of the Brussels cargo operations, the carrier's Central Europe trade flows have grown revenues by 35 percent, with export tonnage growing 20 percent in Germany and 252 percent in Belgium.
To expand its home market and after evaluating 17 airport options, Finnair Cargo set up its European hub at Brussels Zaventem Airport from March 6, 2013, generating more than 15,000 tonnes of cargo through this hub in 2013.
