Jan 26, 2015 (newstodate): Flights to Iceland proved a short-lived temptation for the British carrier Flybe.
Starting from June 29 2014 and until September 7, 2014, Flybe started to operate three weekly rotations on its new route between Birmingham and Keflavik Airport, and in May 2014 the carrier announced that it intended to extend the route to a year-round service using Embraer 175 aircraft.
Flybe has now, however, decided to stop service on the route, with the last flight by the end of this winter' schedule on March 29, 2015.
Contributing to the decision may be Iceland's plans for opening of flights on the same route from February 2015.
