Jan 26, 2015 (newstodate): The Swedish/British carrier West Atlantic has now officially confirmed to be in the process of taking in its first wide-body freighter.
-The first Boeing 767-200F destined for service in West Atlantic arrived at our maintenance provider's facility in Birmingham on January 5, 2015, the company says in a statement.
-The aircraft will undergo final inspection and airworthiness review to finalize the transition into the European regulatory environment within standards stipulated by the European Aviation Safety Agency.
-Following a successful entry to the European environment and final completion of the operational setup, West Atlantic will be able to take delivery and initiate operations shortly thereafter.
West Atlantic's initial plans for introduction of the Boeing 767-200F have, however, been repeatedly delayed against the original target aiming at adding the first freighter already by the end of Q1, 2014.
