Feb 10, 2015 (newstodate): West Atlantic has emerged as the winner of Post Norway's tender for postal flights.
West Atlantic will thus be operating postal flights in Norway during the contract period starting August 2015 and expiring in July 2020.
Beating the bid from SAS Braathens and 10 other competitors, West Atlantic signed the first contract in 2007 with Post Norway for two plus two year contract for airport-to-airport delivery of mail within Norway.
In 2011 the contract was re-tendered after some turbulence, and West Atlantic was again awarded the contract for two plus two years.
The latest award succeeds this second contract and adds another five years of service, with options of annual extension thereafter for a possible maximum duration of eight years.
