Sep 24, 2015 (newstodate): Only one of the Moscow region's three international airports saw cargo volumes up during the first eight months of this year.
The smallest of the three, Moscow Vnukovo Airport thus handled a total of 23,248 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 4.5 percent, y-o-y.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport saw its volumes down by 19.9 percent during the period, to 82,982 tonnes, while Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport was also down 10.5 percent, to 112,369 tonnes.
As for mail volumes, two of the airports saw decline in January-August 2015.
The exception was Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport where volumes remained unchanged at 13,069 tonnes, while mail volumes through Moscow Domodedovo Airport were down by 32.5 percent, and Moscow Vnukovo Airport saw volumes dropping 46.4 percent, y-o-y, to 3,374 tonnes.
