Jan 26, 2016 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is building up its strength not only on the passenger side, but in cargo as well.
According to the latest figures released, the carrier lifted a total of 720,440 tonnes of cargo in 2015, against 666,000 tonnes in 2014, which was also an increase by 18 percent, y-o-y.
The carrier is currently operating a freighter fleet comprising 10 aircraft including three Airbus A310-300F and seven Airbus A330-200F and still holds orders for another three A330-300F aircraft.
To this comes the cargo capacity on the carrier's fleet of 287 passenger aircraft, and in total Turkish Airlines holds orders for delivery of no less than 189 aircraft, passenger and cargo included, over the coming years.
