Dec 15, 2016 (newstodate): Starting from May 2017, Singapore Airlines will add a second route to Scandinavia: Stockholm, Sweden.
With the first flight scheduled for May 30, 2017, the carrier will be offering five weekly flights on the route between Singapore and Stockholm as an extension of the route between Singapore and Moscow Domodedovo Airport.
Code-sharing with SAS, the carrier will be using Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route that still needs final regulatory approvals.
So far the carrier has been operating flights on the Moscow-route with Boeing 777 aircraft, but from December 15, 2016, two of the four rotations will be using the Airbus A350-900 that will eventually replace all Boeing 777 flights on the route from the start of 2017, and from May 30, 2017, the frequency will go up to five weekly rotations.
The carrier has long been online at Copenhagen Airport with five weekly direct flights to and from Singapore.
Following on a code-share agreement since December 2010, Singapore Airlines and SAS in January 2012 entered a joint venture to introduce a jointly operated non-stop route between Stockholm and Singapore, as well as increased frequencies on the route between Copenhagen and Singapore.
