Speaking on the occasion of the carrier's 55th anniversary, the country's minister of Road and Urban Development announced that the state will soon launch a tender for 50 percent plus a golden share in the carrier to pave the road for further modernization of the country's largest airline.
And notably, the tender would aim at attracting foreign investors to gain control over the airline.
No further details on conditions were published, neither was a time frame for the process.
Iran will also working towards full implementation of all EASA aviation standards, the minister said.
Iran recently placed orders for 12 Airbus A380, 21 A320ceo family, 24 A320neo family, 27 A330ceo family, 18 A330neo (-900), and 16 A350-1000 aircraft.
