Feb 03, 2016 (newstodate): Plans by the Irish LCC Ryanair to introduce flights at the capital's Oslo Airport seem to have been postponed.
The airline secured slot times at Oslo Airport, allowing it to operate three daily rotations starting from this spring between Oslo and London Stansted as well as a daily rotation between Oslo and Vilnius, in Lithuania.
Ryanair did not, however, confirm the slot allocation before January 31, 2016, and according to Norway's Aftenposten the airline has instead moved its planned start to September 1, 2016, with the same routes and frequencies.
Ryanair has refused to comment on this upon an inquiry by newstodate.
Norway's Oslo Rygge Airport was opened on March 30, 2010 as Ryanair's 37th base, but a hike in airport charges from April 1, 2016, has made the carrier decide to cancel operations while may spell the death of the airport.
