Jul 27, 2016 (newstodate): On July 20, 2016, Ukraine International Airlines took delivery of the 6th of nine ex-factory Boeing 737-800 aircraft on orders as part of its strategic fleet renewal plan.
The delivery was originally planned for early July, but certain activities around UIA, including the search of the corporate offices by inspectors of one of the governmental bodies, resulted in additional screening procedures from the side of international investors.
According to that analysis, UIA fully complies with all Ukrainian and international laws, standards, and requirements, securing the final approval of the deal.
However, the delay of the delivery resulted in capacity deficiency and flight delays during the peak season.
In the fleet of UIA are now 38 aircraft including 18 Boeing 737NG aircraft.
