Jul 26, 2016 (newstodate): Sweden's Jonkoping Airport reports a sustained positive growth trend in cargo volumes in H1, 2016.
The airport has handled a total of 2,012 tonnes of cargo during January-June 2016, which is eight percent up on last year's first six months.
The totals include 1,678 tonnes of international cargo which was up 15 percent, y-o-y, while postal volumes continued to drop, down 14 percent during the period.
The cargo movements totaled 742, up two percent, provided by TNT, time:matters and DAN'X, while much cargo is also trucked.
-We hope the positive trend in cargo volumes will continue during the remaining half of the year, but this would require the cargo capacity by the carriers to be increased, says Herman Larsson, Jonkoping Airport Marketing Manager.
