Aug 10, 2016 (newstodate): In June, ERA published its Airport Industry Connectivity Report 2016, shedding light on gains and losses, strengths and weaknesses also among airports in the Nordic region.
In the report, ERA defines "connectivity" as "the total number of
connections offered through hub airport X, excluding self-connections."
None of the Nordic airports qualify for a position on the Top-15 connectivity list, topped by Amsterdam.
In the group of secondary hubs, Helsinki Airport is noted for a growth in connectivity by 76 percent during the 10-year period 2006-16.
In the group of "niche and aspiring hubs" are Keflavik, growing 601 percent, Stockholm Arlanda Airport up 54 percent, and Oslo Airport up 34 percent.
In the group of "weakened hubs" is Copenhagen Airport where connectivity declined by 25 percent in 2006-16.
