Sep 02, 2016 (newstodate): Is, or isn't, Cargolux to add Oslo Airport as a new destination on the freighter route map?
Industry sources claim that a positive decision has indeed now been made and will be communicated to the market either later today, or by early next week.
In the meantime, official sources keep tightly secretive.
-We are constantly exploring the markets and looking for new opportunities. Oslo is no exception. But at this moment there are no firm plans for Oslo to be added to our network, says Moa Sigurdardottir, Cargolux Head Of Corporate Communications in a mail dated late September 1.
In the meantime, sources still claim that Cargolux will make its first landing with a Boeing 747-8 freighter on September 20, 2016, flying in from USA on Tuesdays and continuing to Luxembourg where shipments can transfer to other freighter flights on Cargolux' network, primarily to the North American market.
Plans should be to introduce a weekly flight to serve the Norwegian seafood exports.
