Jan 12, 2017 (newstodate): Plans by the Cambodian carrier Sky Angkor Airlines to wet-lease two Superjet 100 aircraft have been dropped.
The aircraft were sourced from the Russian carrier Red Wings, but the airline dropped its plans for Superjet 100 due to costs incurred from the type certification of the aircraft.
Instead, Sky Angkor Airlines has decided to lease additional Airbus A320 capacity.
In September 2015, Sky Angkor signed a five-year co-operation agreement with Lithuania's Small Planet Airlines Group for allocation of four Airbus A320 aircraft in Cambodia for services on routes to China and South Korea during the winter seasons
In addition to this, Sky Angkor has also entered an ACMI contract with the Lithuanian ACMI provider Avion Express comprising two Airbus A320 aircraft during the winter season
