Jan 30, 2017 (newstodate): One more Western airline is soon to add Iran to its flight map: Poland's LOT.
While the airline is yet to announce the opening of flights from Poland to Iran, the carrier has now started the search for its future airport manager at Iran's Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport.
LOT was actually already considering launching flights to Iran in 2015, but by then sanctions were still imposed and the airline also did not have the necessary aircraft type available for the flight that will require bypassing Ukrainian airspace and be able to operate into Tehran's high-altitude and high-temperature airport without severe penalties on passenger and cargo capacity.
