Oct 23, 2017 (newstodate): The Chinese carrier Beijing Capital Airlines is planning for a return of services to Denmark - and launch of flights also to Finland in 2018.
With the first flight on March 27, 2018, the carrier will launch services between Beijing and Copenhagen Airport with three weekly rotations using Airbus A330-200 aircraft, and from May 3, 2017, Beijing Capital Airlines will also launch flights from Beijing to Helsinki Airport with three weekly rotations.
A subsidiary of Hainan Airlines, the carrier performed its first flight from Beijing to Copenhagen on September 3, 2015, later operating one weekly flight during the summer period with Airbus A330-200 aircraft from Hangzhou and Beijing, respectively, to Copenhagen carrying Chinese tourists on package tours sold only by the Chinese tour operator Caissa Touristic.
Plans were to increase to seven weekly flights in summer 2016 - but instead the carrier pulled out after its first flights program in 2015.
In 2016, Beijing Capital Airlines also announced its plans for opening flights between Beijing and Helsinki, in Finland, from May 2017 offering two weekly rotations, but this came to nothing.
