Oct 26, 2017 (newstodate): The Danish rotary-wing operator Uni-Fly has acquired two AW169 light intermediate twin engine helicopters.
The aircraft will enter service in Q1, 2018, and will perform wind farm support operations for DONG Energy at Hornsea Project One, located in the North Sea 120 km from Humberside, UK.
The order is the first contract for the AW169 model in Denmark and the Uni-Fly aircraft will be the first AW169s to support wind farms in the UK.
The helicopters will be configured with a dedicated offshore interior and a rescue hoist to serve maintenance personnel working on wind turbines.
Managed by CEO Jorgen Erik Andersen, Uni-Fly has its HQs at Odense H C Andersen Airport, and its operational base at Esbjerg Airport.
