Oct 26, 2017 (newstodate): Tajikistan and South Korea has agreed to prepare for setting up direct air services between the two countries.
As a first step, the privately-owned Tajik carrier Somon Air will perform a technical test flights between Dushanbe and Seoul Incheon Airport on October 31, 2017, operating a Boeing 737-900 aircraft on the route that will also carry a delegation from Tajikistan to conduct further negotiations after the presidents of the two countries have paved the road.
In autumn 2017 Somon Air has been awarded TCO status from EASA and also obtained membership of IATA.
Somon Air currently performs flights from Tajikistan to destinations in Germany, UAE, Turkey, China, Russia and Kazakhstan with its fleet of two Boeing 737-300, two Boeing 737-800 and two Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.
