Nov 17, 2017 (newstodate): Quite unexpectedly, the Faroe Islands' Vagar Airport will soon have a new airport manager.
For unknown reasons, Jakup Sverri Kass has stepped down from the position as Vagar Airport CEO, held since April 2012.
The Board has named Evy Jacobsen, Vagar Airport Board member, as interim CEO to served till a permanent successor to the CEO position has been named.
Especially during the last few years, Vagar Airport has experienced a healthy growth under the management of Mr Kass.
The latest figures, released in November, thus show a total passenger-growth of 17 percent, y-o-y, and so far into 2017 a record number of 300,469 passengers have used Vagar Airport.
Air cargo volumes, long rather low and stable, are also to lift-off from this month with the start of new seafood air logistics at Vagar Airport.
