Nov 03, 2017 (newstodate): Finnair is said to be mulling plans for launching a fifth destination in Japan.
Today, the carrier is operating flights on routes from Helsinki to Tokyo Narita, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka as well as sharing capacity on Japan Air Lines' daily flights since February 25, 2013, between Tokyo Narita and Helsinki.
But passenger volumes are growing on the routes between Helsinki and Japan, notably Tokyo, despite repeated increases in frequencies, driving up load factors and forcing Finnair to consider options for flights to other airports in Japan.
One potential option would be the opening of new flights to Tokyo Haneda Airport that would be of importance to especially the business segment.
