Nov 14, 2017 (newstodate): Following a tender process, Babcock Scandinavian AirAmbulance has landed a fresh contract to take over all fixed-wing air ambulance services in Norway with effect from July 1, 2019.
Babcock Scandinavian AirAmbulance is operating similar services in Sweden and Finland.
Already now, the company is seeking a range of staff to man administrative as well as mandatory operational positions according to state requirements and aviation regulations.
-Babcock Scandinavian AirAmbulance will be operating 10 Beech 250 turboprop and one Cessna Citation Latitude jet aircraft from seven bases in Norway spanning from Kirkeness in the north to Oslo in the south of the country, says Marius Hansen, vice Managing Director.
-Babcock Scandinavian AirAmbulance is thus to recruit a total of 97 pilots as well as 15 administrative pilots, and the process is now taking off to secure everything in place after set-up of bases, training of pilots and completion of the administrative organization.
-Sourcing 100 pilots will be a challenge in today's aviation environment but we anyhow expect the search to be rather easy considering that we offer employment under an 11 years period, an attractive work scheme and remuneration as well as the challenge of working under arctic conditions, says Mr Hansen.
Another part of the tender concerning operation of rotary-wing aircraft was won by Norsk Luftambulanse AS operating nine out of 12 rotary-wing air ambulance bases in Norway, as well as three bases in Denmark.
