Dec 05, 2017 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo has introduced a new air cargo monitoring tool, Finnair Cargo Eye, an Internet-of-Things solution to transform the airlines cargo operation and customer value creation.
Finnair Cargo Eye integrates multiple data sources, transactional ERP data and IoT sensors into a presentation layer with a visual layout for operational steering that will help Finnair's Cargo Control Center to effectively monitor and steer cargo flows in real time within Finnair's network.
In short, the Cargo Eye allows its users to verify the real-time location of the individual Finnair Cargo shipments, live conditions and details on all elements in the logistics including handling and storage requirements.
Users will thus be in a perfect situation to prepare remedial actions whenever needed while keeping on track with all movements following plans and arrangements made.
The new tool will work in connection with the commissioning around the turn of the year of Finnair's new COOL Cargo Terminal at Helsinki Airport that builds on an extensive utilization of advanced IT solutions.
