Mar 17, 2017 (newstodate): Aeroflot is claimed to be close to signing a new contract for delivery of another batch of 20 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.
The carrier already operates a fleet of 30 Superjet 100 aircraft and signed a LoI in 2015 for a further 20 aircraft of this type - and this LoI should now be turned into a firm order later this year.
If actually materialized, the aircraft manufacturer would deliver 12 or these aircraft in 2017, and the remaining eight in 2018.
Another piece of promising good news for the Superjet 100 is the intention by a coming new Russian start-up carrier Azimuth to take lease of at least four Superjet 100 aircraft, provided slots will be available by the launch of the airline, slated for 2017 already.
