Mar 02, 2017 (newstodate): All seats are taken at the forthcoming one-day seminar in Oslo on March 8, 2017, on the future of airfreight in the seafood logistics.
Arranged by one of the country's leading seafood logistics providers Schenker, the seminar has attracted participants from a full range of seafood logistics stakeholders spanning from producers and exporters to providers of transport and logistics services.
On the speakers' list are Knut Eriksmoen, Schenker Snr VP Air & Ocean Freight Norway and Morten Wurgler, Schenker Head of Air Perishables Norway, Rob Veltman, Qatar Airways Cargo VP Cargo Europe, Torgil Staalberg, GPC Mng Dir, Leif Rasmussen, SAS Cargo CEO, and Martin Hlinka, Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
At around 200,000 tonnes in 2016, Norwegian seafood is today the single largest air cargo export commodity in the North European markets, with some 30-35 percent lifted directly by air out of the country.
In total, Oslo Airport is currently seeing 12 weekly freighter flights including Qatar Airways with six weekly Airbus A330-200F/Boeing 777F operations, Korean Cargo with four weekly Boeing 777F operations, and Emirates SkyCargo and AirBridgeCargo, each with one weekly Boeing 777F operation.
The freighters complement the belly capacity of Qatar Airways' daily passenger flights since October 5, 2011, and Emirates' five weekly passenger flights from Oslo.
