Mar 10, 2017 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ACMI carrier Avion Express, based at Vilnius Airport, has announced a change in top-level management.
Stepping down after eight years with the carrier is Aleksei Lupitski, since March 2009 serving as the company's CEO and President and with the airline industry since his first position from 1997 as Enimex Airlines Director Commercial.
In his place, Gardar Forberg, member of the board and shareholder, will take over the position as President and CEO of Avion Express.
In the fleet now are 15 Airbus A320 Family aircraft on charter and ACMI contracts with operators around the world.
Formerly named Nordic Solutions, the company was taken over in 2008 by the Icelandic Avion Group when the owners of Nordic Solutions that provided in-night logistics went bankrupt.
In 2010 Avion Express was acquired by French investment company Eyjafjoll SAS, formed by Avion Capital Partners of Switzerland in 2009 by David Masson and Gardar Forberg, along with strategic investors from industry.
