Apr 06, 2017 (newstodate): At long last, Mittarfeqarfiit, Greenland Airport managing the country's airports has designated a new managing director.
After a prolonged recruitment process, Greenland's government has appointed Marie Fleischer as new managing director taking up the position from June 1, 2017.
Ms Fleischer brings in extensive experience with public management as four years as director at Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq.
Since Jens Lauridsen, serving as Managing Director since 2012, stepped down from the office by the end of August 2016 to take up a new position with Air Greenland as Technical Director, the office as Mittarfeqarfiit managing director has been filled by the company's current COO Niels Grosen, with the company since 1998 and prior to that with its predecessor since 1984, as an interim solution.
The change of top management comes ahead of a period with large projects to build a new airport infrastructure upgrading both domestic and Atlantic flight services.
