April 25, 2017 (newstodate): At long last, Air Iceland has succeeded in selling its last four remaining Fokker 50 aircraft.
The aircraft served with the carrier for 26 years but were replaced from last spring by the three Bombardier Q400 aircraft delivered from February 2016 that are now, together with two Bombardier Q200 aircraft, constituting the carrier's unified aircraft fleet.
After having been on the sales list for two years, the last four Fokker 50 aircraft have now been acquired by the Canadian company Avmax, and Avmax is then also selling one Bombardier Q200 aircraft to Air Icelandic, taking the carrier's fleet to three of this type.
