May 09, 2017 (newstodate): In April 2017, Finnair saw the total cargo volumes down by 3.1 percent, y-o-y, passenger flights and cargo operations included.
A total of 10,628 tonnes was carried on scheduled passenger flights, down 4.1 percent, and 1,754 tonnes were carried in the three weekly freighter flights between Helsinki and Brussels, operated by DHL, and up four percent.
Cargo volumes on the Asian lanes dropped 5.8 percent to 7,590 tonnes, while cargo volumes on the N Atlantic routes increased by 15.5 percent, to 799 tonnes.
The European traffic generated 2,117 tonnes, a decline by 3.3 percent.
During the first four months of this year, Finnair Cargo has thus seen total volumes down by 2.9 percent, y-o-y, to 44.369 tonnes including 27,518 tonnes on the Asian lanes, down 3.7 percent during the period.
Available Scheduled Cargo Tonne Kilometres were broadly unchanged year-on-year, up 0.1 percent, but Revenue Scheduled Cargo Tonne Kilometres decreased by 3.7 percent reflecting changes in the route mix and fleet.
