May 17, 2017 (newstodate): Icelandair has secured a sale-lease back agreement with a Chinese company comprising four Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
Behind the transaction is the Chinese BOCOMM Leasing, a subsidiary of the Bank of Communications in China, and the agreement covers nine years.
The financial agreement comprises the first aircraft to be delivered in Q1, 2018, and another three following in Q1, 2019.
In February 2013, the Icelandair Group and Boeing signed a commitment for eight Boeing 737 MAX8 and four larger Boeing 737MAX9 aircraft with purchase rights for additional 12 aircraft.
