May 29, 2017 (newstodate): The new Russian cargo carrier Sky Gates Airlines plans to take delivery of its second freighter in June 2017.
Based at the recently opened 4th Moscow airport at Ramenskoye Zhukovsky Airport, Sky Gates Airlines launched services in October 2016 with its first Boeing 747-400F aircraft, formerly operated by Cathay Pacific as is also the second aircraft now to be delivered.
Till now, only the Volga-Dnepr Group's AirBridgeCargo has been offering Russian Boeing 747 freighter capacity.
Along with Volga-Dnepr Group's airlines Volga-Dnepr, AirBridgeCargo and Atran, Aviacon Tzitotrans, Aviastar-TU and Shar Ink, Sky Gates Airlines obtained Third Country Operators, TCO, certification on November 26, 2016, opening the business for world-wide operations.
Sky Gates Airlines is now offering scheduled cargo flights from Maastricht to Moscow and Novosibirsk and is already planning for the acquisition of its third Boeing 747-400F aircraft.
