May 29, 2017 (newstodate): The Scandinavian carrier SAS may be planning for launch of flights to Iran in a few years.
Sources claim that SAS is planning for start of services between Copenhagen or Stockholm and Tehran in 2020, operated with Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A321.
Iran Air is currently serving the route between Tehran and Stockholm with two weekly rotations, while Mahan Air is still awaiting the outcome of talks with the Danish authorities to restart its services between Tehran and Copenhagen, operated June 9, 2016 until earlier this year after problems surfaced with unauthorized armed marshalls onboard the Iranian aircraft.
Today and tomorrow, May 29-30, 2017, aviation talks with Iran are conducted in Copenhagen, Denmark, aiming at a revision of the existing air services agreement regulating the traffic today to bring it in line with recent developments and market conditions.
Denmark is heading the Scandinavian delegation on behalf of all three Scandinavian countries.
