Jun 15, 2017 (newstodate): On June 8, 2017, the Danish aviation company BackBone Aviation took delivery of a CRJ200 aircraft, now based at the company's home base at Esbjerg Airport, in western Denmark.
-This really marks the opening of a new chapter for Backbone Aviation after the break with our former partner, Global Reach Aviation for which we operated one similar aircraft since July 2015, says Einar Adalsteinsson, Backbone Aviation Director Sales and Marketing and member of the Board.
-Our new aircraft is operating on a long-term ACMI contract with the Canadian Bombardier specialist, Voyageur Airways and will serve to bridge the gap until we acquire our own aircraft.
-Plans are to take in one, two or even three more CRJ200 aircraft before the end of this year, to be placed on the global charter, wet-lease and ACMI markets that are key business areas for Blackbone Aviation.
-From the start, we have met a strong and positive reception in the market, and this first CRJ200 aircraft has already been signed for several important contracts with aircraft brokers, boding well for our continued developments, says Mr Adalsteinsson.
With the reorganization of the company, BlackBone Aviation is thus back in business after a serious crisis earlier in 2016 with severe losses and other critical issues leading to a management reshuffle.
