Jun 30, 2017 (newstodate): The new carrier Irish carrier Aer Southeast, set up by Einar Adalsteinsson, did not come near its first flight before running into strong headwinds..
The airline had indeed started sales on its new route from Waterford, in Ireland, to three UK airports London Luton, Manchester and Birmingham with the first flight scheduled for July 24, 2017 - but the country's Commission for Aviation Regulation discovered that the carrier did not have the required commercial license and also did not have an Irish AOC.
Starting from late July 2017, flights would be performed with SAAB340 aircraft on a wet-lease contract with a yet-unnamed provider.
All sales have now been stopped pending the airline's formal application for the pertaining certificates.
The parent company of Aer Southeast is Skytruckers, set up and owned by Einar Adalsteinsson on March 9, 2017.
Einar Adalsteinsson, a well-known figure in Nordic aviation, is also member of the Board at the Danish carrier Blackbone Aviation, serving as this carrier's Director Sales & Marketing.
