Jun 28, 2017 (newstodate): Iceland's cargo carrier Bluebird Cargo is growing its freighter fleet in 2017.
Bluebird Cargo's lease of three of four Boeing 737-300 aircraft was due to expire in 2017, while the fourth is to be redelivered to its lessor by May 2018.
But instead of redelivering the first three Boeing 737-300 aircraft, the carrier has decided to buy them, and operations with the four freighters are therefore continuing.
At the same time, Bluebird Cargo is expecting the imminent delivery from KV Aviation of a third Boeing 737-400 freighter after conversion by Aeronautical Engineers, Inc.
With HQs at Keflavik Airport, Iceland, Bluebird Cargo provides ACMI freighter services for integrators and ad-hoc wet-lease services throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
