Jun 01, 2017 (newstodate): Yaroslavl Tunoshna Airport is working on plans to become a new federal cargo airport in Russia.
Equipped with a 3,000m runway, the airport has been picked as a key element in the construction of a new large multimodal logistic center to ease the pressure on Moscow's congested airports.
The government of the Yaroslavl region is now actively seeking investors to complete the project of the new cargo facility.
Work has already started on the construction of a new 3,000 sq.m. cargo terminal, with design and engineering in progress.
A road feeder service, Tunoshna Cargo Service has also been set up by Kratos and other interested partners to enhance the inter-modality of the cargo and logistics center.
