Jun 08, 2017 (newstodate): Holding a "China Friendly" certificate since March 2016, Sheremetyevo Airport is seeing the opening of a new seasonal route between China and Russia this summer.
With the first flight on June 1, 2017, Tianjin Airlines is now provideing two weekly rotations with Airbus A330-200 aircraft between Chongqing and Moscow Sheremetyvo Airport in addition to its seasonal route since last year from Tianjin to Moscow Sheremetyevo.
In 2016, Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport handled 590,000 Chinese transit passengers while the number during January-May 2017 is up 22 percent, y-o-y, to 732,000.
Flights to China from Moscow now comprise 12 destinations - Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Xian, Urumqi, Tianjin, Sanya, Lanzhou and Chongqing, provided by Aeroflot, Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines and Nordwind Airlines.
